“You really need a tough skin. The workload was ridiculous and unfortunately being a good worker only gained more work. I was told don’t bother putting in a request to shift my start/end times by 1hr, but a new worker in the same role was given it as she had it put into her offer.
Despite being recognised as a leader in the team and offered development opportunities, once I had a baby these disappeared. It was also not a pump friendly space”

“My partner was hired 2 months before me and was offered a higher pay rate, despite me having more qualifications and experience. When I asked for a review I was told it could only be changed at the point of offer.
It was a 80% female workplace, so men (including my partner) regularly got taps on the shoulder to be promoted so that each level had at least 1 male. I was offered a promotion training program but didn’t take it due to being pregnant. Once returning post baby and part time, it was never an option. It was unspoken that only full time workers were promoted and developed.”
