We are facing an uphill battle here to gain exec and Board support to recognise that they could and should be doing better to support women, carers, and other minority groups in 2022″

Overall Job Satisfaction: 1 / 5

Do you believe women and men are treated equally?

“No”

What’s unequal?

Development, Promotion. Despite a 72% female workforce and a female CEO, men outnumber women in senior leadership positions until 3 tiers down from the CEO.”

Would you recommend Newcastle Permanent Building Society to other women?

“Maybe.I would recommend this employer to a woman who is happy to work 5 days a week normal business hours and is happy to put work before children/family. For a woman who is prepared to embrace the status quo this could be quite a supportive workplace. However, if you want to make suggestions to improve or change the system to be more supportive of working parents and flexible working arrangements, and inclusion and diversity in general, this workplace is about a decade or two behind most.”

five stars

If you are a woman who is happy to work 5 days a week, likely greater than 38 hours/wk, and still see less qualified male co-workers given opportunities or promoted over you, then this is an okay place to work.
If you are a person (male, female or other) who cares about equity and inclusion, about working in a psychologically safe workplace where different voices are heard and welcomed, this is definitely not the workplace for you. Overwhelmingly, leadership and direction of this business is pale, male and stale”.
